Desiree Penner Watercolours
Artwork for lovers of the sea.
Welcome in pieces that celebrate the ocean and the creatures that call it home.
Tiny Coastal Art Collection
This collection of artwork features miniature watercolour paintings, measuring just 3x3 inches square. Each captures the soul of the Salish Sea - depicting humpback whales, orcas, seals, sea lions, sailboats, rugged coastlines and more. This collection comes with the prestige of having hung as a solo exhibition in a Canadian art gallery this summer! All the pieces are housed in custom barnboard frames and arrive as ‘wall-ready’ additions to your home.
80% of the pieces have sold, though some absolute gems remain!
Seal + Sealion Small Works
This small collection featured paintings of the seals and sea lions of the West Coast. These paintings honour the beauty, curiosity, and humour of the seals and sea lions. It seeks to raise awareness about their vital place within the coastal ecosystem, as every year their existence is challenged by proposals for culling.
Of this collection, only three paintings remain - awaiting their forever home.
About the artist
My name is Désirée Penner. I’m a watercolour artist and potter that lives in the prairies of Canada, but the Pacific Northwest has stolen my heart. I attended an artist residency on Vancouver Island March 2020 and in that moment fell in love with salty sea breezes and tall cedar trees.
My artwork is deeply inspired by the ocean and the creatures that call it home. On Leap Year Day of 2020, I saw orcas in the wild for the very first time. It was pure magic. This moment launched a new chapter of artwork that pays tribute to the beauty and wonder of the West Coast to this day.
A little something special, just for you.
There are a lot of ways to collect artwork. Sometimes, that looks like purchasing an original painting. Other times, it looks like snagging a journal, card, postcard, or sticker set. These items are an affordable, entry-level way to bring my artwork into your life!
