Navigating Stillness at Bareneed | Original Acrylic Painting
This painting was created en plein air or on location at the Bareneed artist residency.
The painting was completed from the deck of the artist residency. On one cloudy and rainy day, a harbour porpoise (a small species of whale) entered the bay and could be seen from the windows and deck of the residency. It moved through the waters ever so quietly, with just a dorsal fin visible above the water. The sea was a mixture of pale seafoam greens that afternoon.
This acrylic painting was created on handcrafted paper, using saltwater from the Atlantic Ocean to mix the colours. The painting measures approximately 5x7 inches and features deckled edges.
