Soaring Promises at Mad Rocks | Original Acrylic Painting

This painting was created en plein air or on location at Mad Rocks.

Mad Rocks were about a 15 minute drive from the artist residency. I hiked a short distance to a beautiful viewpoint. The winds were absolutely wild and caused huge sprays against the rocks. The waters were churned up, causing ripples of seafoam green closest to the shore. In the distance, the waters blazed a stark dark blue. I was captivated by how the gulls swooped with the winds, against the backdrop of ocean spray.

This acrylic painting was created on handcrafted paper, using saltwater from the Atlantic Ocean to mix the colours. The painting measures approximately 5x7 inches and features deckled edges.
