The Wild Orca Series is a collection of fine art watercolour paintings that embody the Pacific Northwest. This series is filled with all the moody greys, blues, and greens of the Salish Sea. Each one features a Southern Resident, Northern Resident, or Transient orca.

Current and her calf are Northern Resident orcas, which frequent the Northern portion of the Salish Sea. In this painting, you can see her calf surfing on the wake while Current dives below the surface. On of the most stunning elements of this painting is found in the reflection of the calf on the water. There’s a frenzy of water droplets patiently painted using a tiny brush. The movement in the piece is compelling, it’s like you can reach out and be there with the orcas too!

“A79 Current and A119 Calf” is a 12x12 inch original watercolour painting on fine Arches paper.
